San Francisco – 20 Training Miles
June 12, 2010
The last two days have been all bike training for the team. Yesterday we did a few obstacle courses, learned to ride as a group, and learned how to change a flat tire. Today we rode a practice ride of 20 miles to get us ready for the big ride. I had no trouble on the ride today, and am feeling pretty confident that I trained enough for this trip. It’s strange thinking that tomorrow we’re going to ride the first 75 miles of our 4,000 mile journey.
We also had our kickoff dinner this evening sponsored by the Italian restaurant Buca di Beppo here in San Francisco. My parents came to that, so I had a chance to catch up with what they’ve been doing in California for the last few days. I’m really grateful for all of the support they have given me in preparation for this summer, so if you’re reading this mom and dad, thanks for all of your support. I’ll see you in D.C.
We will actually be tracked by GPS this summer, follow us live at:
